About Life Skills: Employment Readiness
Employment Readiness modules are a subset of our Life Skills program. These modules have been designed by Autistic people, for Autistic people navigating the workplace.
The program supports Autistic people to build confidence, skills, and strategies to succeed in the workplace in small, bite-sized chunks. Employment Readiness focuses on key areas of employment, from planning a career path that aligns with your strengths and values, to self-advocacy and self-care in the workplace.
FAQs
The program is designed primarily for young Autistic adults who are in the workforce, getting ready to enter the workforce or looking to find a career direction that suits their strengths.
- Anyone who identifies as Autistic
- Most people joining Life Skills are aged 16 to 25 years, however we welcome anyone aged 14+
Life Skills modules run at various times throughout the year, depending on community interest. Employment Readiness modules typically run over 2 x 1.5hr session with a short break in the middle of each. Currently these sessions occur at 5:30pm, every 1st and 3rd Tuesday of the month. Alternate times are also available during school holidays.
You can join modules in person at our Stafford office, or online via Zoom. We aim to make this experience as welcoming as possible, and supply various sensory tools such as weighted blankets, fidgets and ear defenders at our in person session.
Employment Readiness topics cost $175 per module. If you have an NDIS plan, modules may also be covered through this.
